The Equality Act is a federal bill that aims to protect the civil rights of LGBTQ+ Americans. The Equality Act will amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Housing Act, and other federal laws to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
