Get to meet and work with others who care about health and well-being. Get to share your expertise and training for the benefit of a marginalized community.     Number of Positions: 2

    Supervisor: Pride House Co-Managers

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: Develop and carry out various events, presentations and resources which promote mental, psychological, physical, emotional health, healing, life enrichment and life skills specifically for the LGBTQ+ community.

    Major Responsibilities: Determine the most needed areas of focus within Cache Valley's LGBTQ+ community. Develop, schedule and present independent events, classes, workshops (or mini-presentations to existing Pride groups) to address specific health and well-being needs and increase awareness of available resources. This can be as simple as scheduling a presentation every month or two done by Bear River Health Department or or other professionals you invite. They are eager to work with Logan Pride. This is a new volunteer position and your input, expertise and ideas will help develop this role.

    Time Commitment: It could be just 2-3 hours a month finding and scheduling a presenter and setting up and hosting that event/presentation. But your schedule will be largely determined by you.

    Qualifications: Professional training and experience in at least some aspect of health and wellness. Knowledge of and experience with the LGBTQ+ community and its specific challenges will be very helpful. Good presentation skills, communication skills to reach out to other professionals, self-motivated, organized, kind and socially adept to reach out to attendees and help them feel welcome, safe and engaged.

    Training and/or Preparation: In addition to your professional training, you will need to attend Logan Pride Volunteer Orientation and then possibly Pride House Host/Group Leader Training.

  • Benefits: Making a substantial contribution to our LGBTQ+ community by helping keep Logan Pride's resources available and expanding. Meeting new friends and working with some amazing and committed volunteers and Board Members. Learning new skills and expanding your resume.

    Number of Positions: 1

    Supervisor: Logan Pride Board (of which you would be a member)

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: Oversee all aspects of Logan Pride's financial management.

    Major Responsibilities:
    ◦ General financial oversight

    ◦ Tracking funding, fundraising, donations and sales

    ◦ Financial planning and budgeting with LPF Board

    ◦ Financial reporting at monthly Board meetings

    ◦ Banking, book keeping and record keeping

    ◦ Preparation of all required financial and tax filings

    ◦ Manage bill payments, purchasing, committee debit cards, reimbursements etc.

    Time Commitment: About 8-10 hours per month.

    Qualifications: While this is a volunteer position, it requires professional training and/or experience in accounting, business financial management, bookkeeping and tax preparation. Any experience with 501(c)(3) organizations would be a big plus although not required. This also requires a thorough background check and character references. Depending on your experience and interest, the Treasurer position may or may not be a Logan Pride Board position.

    Training and/or Preparation Required: See qualifications above. There is some flexibility in requirements so please let us know whatever financial training, education or experience you have. Logan Pride Volunteer Orientation Training also required.

    Supervisor: Mel, Marketing/Outreach Committee Lead

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: To help create, update, and manage Logan Pride website and content.

    Major Responsibilities: Creating website content and pages, Updating website as needed, keeping website current.

    Time Commitment: Roughly 5 hours per week.

    Qualifications: Plex knowledge is a benefit, coding is a benefit but not necessary, general website building knowledge with Squarespace, Wordpress, Wix, etc.

Opportunities

    Supervisor: House Committee Chair (Board Member)

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: The Logan Pride House Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy, welcoming and uplifting environment for our LGBTQIA+ community. Under the direction of the House Committee Chair Board Member, the House Coordinator leads the Pride House Committee volunteers and meetings and generally oversees everything that goes on inside the Pride House: scheduling and tracking of all events and groups, making sure there are qualified and trained volunteers to oversee each event or meeting; maintaining door code and camera security issues, working with the Volunteer Coordinator in training House and Host Volunteers, managing donations dropped off at the house, maintaining House Personal Property Inventory, making supply and House needs and repair requests, and general organization and cleanliness of the Pride House. Volunteers on your Pride House Committee will help you with these various tasks.

    Major Responsibilities:

    a. Manage House meeting/group scheduling
    i. Manage/Approve House schedule requests
    ii. Update Google calendars and notify marketing@loganpride.org as needed
    iii. Make sure group/event reports are submitted promptly by group/event leaders. Work with the Volunteer Coordinator as needed.

    b. Mail distribution
    i. Summerfest mail should be slid entirely under their door.
    ii. Establish and maintain a secure mail distribution system for LPF mail for Board Members. Currently only Board Members should open the mail. If something looks important or urgent you can notify via email or text the appropriate Board Member.

    c. Phone - vmail

    d. Monitor and organize House cleaning as needed

    e. Food/treats management – intake and disposal, keep it healthy as possible.

    f. Donation of items acceptance and offer donation receipt to donor. Do not provide a value for the item/s donated. That is for the donor to determine.

    g. Maintain accurate House Personal Property Inventory spreadsheet for year end tax documents.

    h. Notify House Committee Board Member re. House needs: supplies, maintenance issues, house wish list, ideas, concerns etc.

    i. Maintain accurate list of backdoor code recipients and notify them of code changes.

    j. Manage Library & checkouts - set up system for that.

    k. Develop resource manual for house volunteers & participant info

    Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per month

    Qualifications: Computer skills, coordinating people resources, organized, scheduling, reaching out, professional presence, ability to prioritize, self-motivated

    Supervisor: Pride House Coordinator

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: Help keep the Logan Pride House clean and organized.

    Major Responsibilities: Monitor the cleanliness and orderliness of the Logan Pride House. Schedule and organize your Clean Team volunteers for occasional cleaning or organizing events as needed or as requested by the Pride House Coordinator or Pride House Committee Chair (a Board Member).

    Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per month or as needed.

    Qualifications: A love for keeping things clean and organized. Some leadership and human organizational abilities. Enjoy working with and helping others. Reliable, responsible, good on following through with commitments.

    Number of Positions: 1

    Supervisor: Mel Payne, Marketing/Outreach Committee Lead

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: To lead a successful social media team for Logan Pride.

    Major Responsibilities: Setting goals, Promoting important dates impacting LGBTQIA+ community, Ideation of posts to keep Logan Pride relevant in algorithms, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Discord, Leading team.

    Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week.

    Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of social media platforms and operation, knowledge of social media marketing. Graphic design skills would be a plus!

    Training and/or Preparation: Prior experience in a related position. Logan Pride volunteer training.

    Work Location: Anywhere- can work from home. Occasional meetings with marketing team on Zoom or in-person if you are local and able.

Group Facilitation &
Social Opportunities

Maybe you’re a long-time Gaymer, or coffee and cocoa regular. If this is the case and you’d like to try your hand at group facilitation, check and see if any of these roles appeal to you!

  • Benefits: Get to meet others in Cache Valley's LGBTQ+ community and allies who enjoy playing D&D. Something to look forward to Friday nights. Get to attend special Pride Volunteer Appreciation events.

    Number of Positions: 1, possibly more

    Supervisor: Pride House Co-Managers

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: Host/facilitate D&D game night every other Friday from 6pm-10pm at the Pride House.

    Major Responsibilities: Open the Pride House before the event. Make sure it's clean and set up for the event. Welcome all attendees, especially new comers and help them meet other attendees. The event hosts 2 groups: one from 6pm-8pm and the second from 8pm-10pm. At the end of the event encourage attendees to help you make sure the House is left clean and orderly. Fill out the weekly Event Report Form using the QR code on the back door. Make sure the House is locked up as per House Instruction sheet.

    Time Commitment: About 4.5- 5 hours every other week, unless you and your co-host want to alternate weeks, then only 5 hours per month.

    Qualifications: Dependable, reliable, responsible, willing and able to interact positively with all attendees, answer questions, be a good host and at least a basic knowledge of the D&D game. Must be kind and respectful of all within the wonderful diversity of our LGBTQ+ community and allies. Available every other Friday nights from 6-10pm or at least 1 Friday per month.

  • Benefits: Using your amazing foody skills to help others, build and strengthen our LGBTQ+ community and getting to meet a lot of wonderful and diverse friends. You will also be invited to Volunteer Appreciation events.

    Number of Positions: 2

    Supervisor: Mel Payne, Outreach/Fundraising Committee

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: Plan and carry out various Logan Pride Food events for fundraisers, community building and appreciation events (pancake breakfasts, BBQs, Spaghetti dinners, Pride Plates at the Festival or other special food events). Creativity is encouraged!

    Major Responsibilities: Working with the Logan Pride Board, you will lead your Logan Pride Food Event Committee in planning, organizing, purchasing, preparing, serving and clean-up of food at occasional Logan Pride events throughout the year. Assuring food and food service volunteers all strictly adhere to Cache County food safety standards throughout the process. We look forward to your ideas for great events and simplified menus. We do have access to a Logan City permitted kitchen for prep and can assist in finding volunteers and food resources you need for safe and successful events.

    Time Commitment: Will vary considerably based on event and scheduling. Perhaps an annual average of 4 hours per month.

    Qualifications: Hopefully professional food industry experience and training (catering, restaurant managing, chef etc.). Food Handlers permit, excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, good leadership and people skills to work with and train/mentor inexperienced volunteers; creativity in event and menu planning; excellent budgeting skills (events must be affordable to LPF as well as attendees if a fundraiser.) Desire to help build our LGBTQ+ community and allies.

    Training and/or Preparation: Professional food handling experience. Current Cache County Food Handlers Permit (we can help you get that if needed.)

    Work Location: Logan Pride House or at event venues throughout the valley.

    Supervisor: Pride House Co-Managers

    Goal or Purpose of the Position: Host the monthly "Rainbow Family Potluck & Game Night" the first Sunday of each month, 6-8pm

    Major Responsibilities: Open the Pride House about 30 minutes before the event. Make sure it is clean and set up as needed with tables, chairs, dishes and other items needed for the event. Welcome all attendees, especially new comers. Help all interact with others. Encourage name tag creation and wearing. At the end of the event encourage attendees to help you clean up, wash dishes, throw out garbage, put supplies away and restore house to clean and orderly condition. Fill out the Event Report Form using the QR code on the back door. Lock up the building as per House instructions on the back door.

    Time Commitment: About 3 hours per month, first Sunday 5:30-8:30ish.

    Qualifications: Dependable, reliable, responsible, willing and able to interact positively with all attendees, answer questions, be a good host, good conversational and socialization skills and have a good sense of organization and cleanliness. Must be kind and respectful of all within the wonderful diversity of our LGBTQ+ community and allies. Available the first Sunday from about 5:30pm-8:30pm.
